Well I did really well on the no spend this past month and we have not needed a 'big shop' at all as the garden is feeding us very well. The freezer is stuffed to the gunnels with home cooked ready meals and It seems that no sooner do I take one out I put three back in. I've lifted the last lamb Rogan josh out for tonight's meal and I'll be having a look through the freezer to see what I can use up this coming month. We popped to Aldi yesterday for a few essentials and stuck to the list without any extras being added.
I've noticed that I wear the heels down on my shoes quite quickly so am going to try and buy some segs for the heels. We called into a shoe shop yesterday and asked for some but no luck. The lady suggested we look online and that is my plan this morning. If they are still available it'll save me a fortune on cobbler bills as I seem to be taking them for new heels every few months.

Segs....not heard them called that, we always called them Blakeys. Not seen or heard of them for years! I bought Charlotte potatoes in the supermarket this morning, £1 for 1kg, will be using half of them for your spud growing challenge.
ReplyDeleteI've just ordered some segs from ebay. Never heard them called Blakeys until recently. The spud challenge will be fun.
DeleteHi,great tip about the shoe protectors thanks.x
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
DeleteWe always called them Blakeys. My Mum used to moan at the amount she used to have to spend on having them put on my shoes when I was a child lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing ok in my low spend month. It's helped that the weather has been lousy so I haven't gone out to shop lol
Thank goodness I hate shopping. It helps a lot in a no spend month.
DeleteEbay is my friend, and where I got some more heels and soles for my slippers. Impressed at the way you've stuck to the challenge.
