Well it's the last day of 2021 and I want to wish each and every one of you a very peaceful and prosperous 2022. I hope the new year is a kinda one than the old one has been right across the world.
We had Alexander and Beckah over for tea (or dinner if that's what you call it) last night. I used up the remainder of the beef joint and served it with plenty of buttery mashed potatoes, sprouts, Yorkshire puds, carrots and sweetcorn. The gravy was absolute gorgeous.. I love those Knorr stock pots they really up the gravy game.
This morning I was out first thing for my walk and my lovely friend gave me a little pile of goodies. The jigsaw is one she has just finished, the toiletries set is one she was given for Christmas but won't use and the diary is one she bought for me. I'd said the other day that I planned on buying a diary next week so it was lovely of her to go and get one for me. I will 'tart up' the cover and make it pretty or I might even make a pretty dust jacket for it. It'll be nice to have a project to work on.
We will be bringing in the New Year at our friends house tonight. Much alcohol with be drunk and much food will be eaten and then starting on Sunday I am back onto the low carb diet. Tony goes back to work next week and can take all the spare mince pies and biscuits with him to share with his colleagues. It'll be far easier for me to get back on track when he isn't at home tempting me with all the junk food. I'll do a weigh in on Sunday so I can track how much blubber I manage to shed. I'm starting to look porkier than I'd like to be.
Happy New Year to you, your family and your readers and I echo your thoughts that we hope 2022 will be kinder for all.

DeleteLovely gifts & hope we see your efforts to titivate the diary. I didn't bother with one last year after not really using the one for 2020, so I'm in 2 minds as to get one for this year or not. Sounds like your NYE celebrations will be nice. We didn't bother as things are going absolutely crazy here with the virus and all the confusing restrictions etc. We just keep to ourselves these days and wonder if we'll end up as hermits(giggle). Happy New Year, take care and hugs from a "very" hot down under.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Susan..I need the diary to log my work hours... if exams do in fact go ahead. I have four to invigilate this month. The first in nearly two years but I'm not holding out much hope that they will go ahead. This darn virus won't let up just yet.
DeleteHappy New Year! Lovely gifts.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Sharon. Hopefully 2022 will be a kind year for us all. x
DeleteHappy New Year Cherie! Arilx
