Tony and I are bitterly disappointed to hear that the New Years eve ceilidh has been cancelled though we weren't at all surprised. Not sure now how we will celebrate the New Year but I am sure we'll do something.
The weather is awful today though when I went out for my walk first thing it wasn't too bad. We've a jigsaw on the go and plenty of food in the cupboards so we may just hibernate for a few days. I could even give tomorrow's early morning walk a miss and have a long sleep in... but I doubt I'll do that. :-)
That is a great shame but, as you say, not terribly surprising. At least you have time to re-plan. One of my friends has arranged a 'party' online, starting at eleven on New Year's Eve night. Not the same but there will be games and drinks and nibbles and, I am sure, plenty of laughter.
