Last night I had a lovely meal out with friends and didn't fall off my low carb wagon. I had a beef au poivre with only a tiny portion of rice and avoided the chips. This particular pub serves the most amazing chips so it was a real wrench to say no to them.
Today was a totally different kettle of fish as I had volunteered Tony to take my friend to hospital in Guisborough for her appointment to save her daughter driving down from Newcastle or the expense of a taxi. It's only fifteen minutes up the road so hardly a million miles away. We wandered around the shops in Guisborough while my friend had her appointment. There's a wonderful bakery there that sells the most amazing scones... and utterly huge. They are almost the size of a saucer and I succumbed to the temptation. Tony had a cheese one and mine was a Christmas spice scone. Tony also had a vast sausage roll but I declined even a taste as I knew I would want one. The scone made the perfect lunch for me.

I was a bit disappointed that Aldi didn't have sprout loo roll just the ordinary snowman variety.
Before we went to the hospital I wrapped up warm for my walk this morning. It was treacherous underfoot though and I was really wary of slipping on the ice. Tomorrow I'll stay in bed if it's icy.
| The light up hat has really bright lights and I can be seen for miles. It's very dark when we walk on a morning at the moment |
I have some lovely white fleece and plenty of fabric so after Christmas I am going to make myself a fleece lined scarf to see me through the winter.
Love your Christmas-y wear! I think I would have succumbed to temptation too. Those scones sound wonderful. I am rubbish at making them. When I was in England this summer my sister would bake some cheese ones and bring them round to Mum's for me to cheer me up and because she knows I love them!
ReplyDeleteThe scone sounds a great lunch treat & would have done me too. I love all your warm winter woollies & am enjoying the "fashion" parade. Take care & hugs.
