Tony and I have been for a wander around Northallerton today. It's market day and there's a cake stall that sells the most beautiful home made (on a farm) cakes. At £4 for the entire cake it hardly broke the bank to buy one... so we did... Orange cake on this occasion and it's the lightest fluffiest most delicious treat. Then we popped into an artisan bistro and bought a huge loaf of fresh baked sour dough bread. We've just had a thickly buttered slice topped with a couple of fried eggs for our lunch. But what did we buy that we never knew we needed.... drum roll please....... A pressure pad that fits under the doormat and when the mat is stood on it belts out Christmas songs from a hidden speaker. πππ Stop shaking your head. You must surely know by now what we are like. π
I'm off out with friends for a meal this evening and it will be great to have a catch up. Tomorrow Tony and I are calling in to to see my friend Margaret. Her American pen friend is staying with her and they've asked us to visit before she goes back home next week. Then it will be straight on to our friends Brenda and Brian for tea, so all in all a busy couple of days.
Hope you enjoy your meal out.
ReplyDeleteYikes on the door mat. Don't you find it annoying or do the songs stop when you open the door? I think it might be something that would drive me crazy.
Yum on the baked goods. It's always nice to have a treat especially when someone else makes it!
It only belts out a coupe of bars so hopefully won't drive us nuts. time will tell
