Oh No

It's blown a hoolie all night long and is still going strong.  I got up this morning and discovered the 6ft high fence between us and our neighbour is badly damaged. The wind is too dangerous at the moment for me to go out and take a good look and it would be cruel to wake Tony when there isn't anything he can do about it right now. I'll take him a cuppa in a while and let him wake up gently. We heard something roll off the roof through the night but I haven't been out to take a look yet. I've never known wind as strong as this here and bet there is an awful lot of damage locally. I'm hoping our little apple tree is okay beneath that damaged fence. The  pergola has stopped the whole thing coming down but it's going to be an expensive repair.

Poor fence.

  1. Oh no, that's not good, we've lost several fences over the years so know what it's like. Whose responsibility is the fence? I hope your apple tree - and everything else - has survived relatively unscathed, you've worked so hard in your lovely garden. We've come off fairly well, a few things blown around but no real damage. Take care when you do venture out there, Cherie xx

  2. The fence is almost completely down now and although Tony had the fence put up twenty five years ago it's actually the responsibility of the neighbour on that side so we'll see what he has to say. We are happy to put a hedge in on that side.

  3. Oh no..........hope all will be OK and we certainly know all about bad winds recently with all the damage they have caused here throughout Victoria. Some people were without power for over a week in late October. Did you lose much in the part of the garden & what came off the roof? Please take care & hugs.

    1. We think it may have been our neighbours roof... we are semi detached and can't see any damage to our side of the roof. We'll keep our fingers crossed and have a good look when the weather improves.

    1. Tony freed the tree from the fence but we won't know how it is until we can get the fence down. Hopefully it will be okay as it's been a brilliant little producer this year.
