Tony and I are doggy sitting this weekend. My friend Jayne's son is getting married today and he'd struggled to find somewhere that could take the dog... French Bulldog Hughie. He offered me £50 to have the dog until Sunday so that's a nice little Christmas bonus. Jayne happened to say that if Hughie didn't want to go for a walk he would let us know. This morning we both got up at 07.45 (practically unheard of at a weekend for Tony). I popped Hughie's lead on and took him for a wander around our garden so that he could have a widdle. After a quick cup of coffee Tony and I donned our outdoor gear and set off out for a walk with Hughie. We got to the top of the drive and he sat down refusing to budge. The look on his face spoke volumes and if he could speak he would have said 'Are you barking mad. You want me to go for a walk in the cold at 8am... no blimmin chance'. We turned around and took him back into the house where he promptly jumped into his bed and snuggled in for a sleep. Tony and I had a walk out seeing as how we were already dressed for a walk.
Beckah and Alexander are selling at a craft fair today so we popped over to see them and buy some Christmas presents off various stall holders.. We do like to do our bit to support those that make things to sell. It irritates the heck out of me though when people don't put prices on their goods. I usually don't bother asking the price and just move on.
Hope the craft fair goes well.
ReplyDeleteThe story with the dog made me laugh. They can be very stubborn. When daughter came the other week with Shasta we took her out for a walk and she seems to remember the way she wants to go. If you try to take her the short way and she wants a long walk, she'll absolutely refuse to move. Not easy to move a husky as big as her!
Huskies are such beautiful dogs aren't they.
DeleteWhat a funny dog. That's a great way to make extra money. I used to do a lot of pet sitting, and it was an excellent and consistent side income.
ReplyDeleteMy dog sounds like the Husky and wants to direct where we walk.
ReplyDeleteThis did make me laugh! What a character! It reminds me of my sister's dog (a Staffy mix) who is very reluctant to walk and he is a young dog so no excuse. He just does his business and then wants to turn around and go home. Keep well. Amanda x
