Had to chuckle

This feels very appropriate after yesterday's post.   Last night we met up with our carving club in a marquee at a pub. I walked into the marquee and said..'Oh it's lovely and warm in here' Three people sitting opposite nearly fell off their chairs in shock.. 'It's bl**dy freezing' they said... I guess Tony and I are tougher than most. I wouldn't care, they all had thick jumpers and warm padded coats on... I took my coat off or I'd have been passing out with the heat.

Now that the mornings are getting darker my friend and I have switched our walking start time to 8am instead of 7.30. I had thought I might just stay in bed a little longer but once I am awake I'm wide awake and need to get up. I have friends coming for tea tonight so I want to browse some vegetarian recipes as Brenda is a vegetarian. I played it safe and bought Quorn mince and quite fancy cooking a spicy stuffed marrow. If I can find a nice recipe I'll go with that. Otherwise it will be good old spag bol.

  1. It's all personal isn't it? Tom is always freezing and I am always hot. I still use the fan in my bedroom sometimes when I get hot.

    1. We've just put the bedroom fan back in the loft for the winter.

    1. Layers are the way to go aren't they. Unless it's really cold then the heating is a handy tool.

  3. Both sound absolutely delicious.

    I guess I'm a Southern Softie - I feel the cold rather a lot.

    1. It's so much easier to feel the cold though. You can put an extra layer on. We are too hot most of the time and then it's really difficult to cool down.

  4. Just read your rant & had to laugh as folks here who have central heating keep their thermostat on in the 20's, whereas I put ours on 18degC and that's it, though we've not used it this year, as we now have our woodheater. I do feel the cold now more than my youthful days, but dress accordingly. Take care & hugs.

    1. 18 is a nice cosy temperature isn't it. That would suit us through the winter.
