Aren't the mornings getting darker now. Take heart fellow bloggers as it's only about ten weeks and they start getting a bit lighter... :-) In the meantime of course it will get colder and darker and it's the perfect time of year for snuggling up in front of the fire with a good book or a crafting project.. if you can afford to put the fire on. The wedding is getting closer and I'm getting quite excited at the thought of seeing Alexander happily married. He never believed in marriage until he met Beckah, insisting a wedding certificate is just a piece of paper... Bless him, he can't wait to be a married man even though they have been living together for two years. They both agree that they don't want children and given the way the world is right now I don't blame them. Tony is off work at the moment so my days aren't my own and I don't seem to be getting anything done. I must try and bring a bit of routine back into my life or we'll disappear under piles of junk mail... he reads every piece and then stacks it next to himself by the sofa. It staggers me to see how much rubbish we do get posted through the door. And don't get me started on charity bags. We are getting three or four a week just lately and most of them are very misleading. They are firms dealing in second hand clothing and only make a small donation to the charity emblazoned on the front of the bag. We'd rather deliver it direct to a charity shop and know for sure where the money will go.
Ten weeks - is that all. Goodness!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the sorting out.
xx
The sorting is a never ending circle.
DeleteYes I hate the dark mornings too...the clocks going back gives a brief respite, but after a couple of weeks it's back to being dark again. However, as you say, come the 21st December we start to get a bit more daylight....only a few minutes a week, but it always cheers me.
ReplyDeleteFancy Tony reading the junk mail - here, it goes straight in the recycling or the bin. Junk mail drives me crackers.
I'm a junk mail chucker too. Tony drives me potty reading it all but each to their own.
DeleteA wedding is fun! Daughter just got married. They aren't sure about the children yet. I said it's entirely up to them and don't have one because anyone is pressuring you - his mum would love to be a Grandma.
ReplyDeleteI am having a love/hate relationship with darker mornings. I like that I'm not waking up at a terrible time (when I am sleeping) and it's kind of nice to snuggle under the blankets!
I'm sleeping better and get up to start my day around 6am. I hate going out for a walk while it's still dark and probably would leave it till later in the day if I wasn't meeting my friend.
DeleteLots of couples say they don't want children, and that's their prerogative. What they don't realise that later in life they will miss out on grandchildren - and these are the biggest delight.
ReplyDeleteNot always..
DeleteI had a junk letter yesterday with information from a company who organizes simple cremation schemes. I couldn't bring myself to read it.
ReplyDeleteNow that's something to cheer you up as we slide into winter :-(
