We've had a few days of really nice weather so I have made the most of it working outdoors in the garden. I have no idea what's come over me lately as the urge to clean and scrub the house from top to bottom has been irresistible... most unusual :-) Anyway, after my walk this morning I came home and did an hour in the garden before I head off to play whist. Window ledges are all wiped and the front lawn is cut. It's actually the bit of local authority grass but they let it get far too long before butchering it so I always keep it tidy. I only wish others would bother as it hardly takes five minutes. It takes longer to think about getting the lawnmower out than to actually do it. Over the past few days I cut down a load of sweet peas and turned them into confetti and I have also removed the tomato plants at the front of the house. They were starting to look straggly so I took off the decent sized tomatoes and the rest went in compost bin along with the stalks and leaves. I still have plenty coming in the back garden so we won't be buying shop ones for a while. The cucumbers are still producing and I have two ready to pick so they will be getting picked when I get back this afternoon. I'm having quite a social life just lately, out for a meal with friends last night and then out for lunch today before going to whist. Hopefully the weather will stay nice for a bit longer as I want to plant some winter bedding next week. It will help to brighten up the dark dreary days
