I've had a busy morning so far today. Before I met my friend for our usual walk I put two loads of washing on the line at 06.50 this morning as I knew the weather was set to turn nasty around eleven. It was great to bring it in all fresh and clean and wind blown. Then I gave the kitchen a good scrub before switching over my net curtain. I absolutely adore net curtains and would love to see a revival. There's nothing prettier than snowy white nets with a little posy of fresh picked flowers in my kitchen. These ones have come from the garage window and Tony was going to throw them out as they've been there over twenty five years. Two runs through the washing machine and they are sparkling white. Far better quality than most of the stuff in shops these days. It took a little work this morning to cut them down to size and stitch a slot for the curtain pole but they look so nice and fresh. I gave the window a blimmin good clean too and the sun is currently shining through though I can see the clouds gathering and a few spits and spots of rain.
Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Bring back net curtains
I had hoped to go and chose my outfit for the wedding tomorrow but Tony can't have the day off so we'll go on Saturday instead and that's one more thing off my to do list. I have nothing specific in mind so it will be fun choosing what to wear. The kids have booked a limo to take us all to the register office for the official bit before the afternoon hippy dippy ceremony. I'm really looking forward to the hippy dippy bit as it will be so personal to them both.

I agree about the net curtains. Everybody is going for blinds me included but they get so dusty, when these are done with I'm going back to curtains.

I've just ordered more nets for the spare bedroom.
DeleteI love lace curtains. They can give privacy without making a room so dark you can't see in it.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I think.
DeleteWe don't have nets at home - no need for them, we're not overlooked at all. We do have them at the caravan though.....mainly to keep Betty from noticing (and barking at) every movement from fellow vanners! (she's a proper guard dog who thinks she's always on duty). I bet you can't wait for the wedding.
