Bargain buys

I've been out bargain food shopping today with my friends Brenda and Brian.  Look at these beautiful berries for the princely sum of £3. I gave them a quick rinse and de hulled the strawberries before mixing them together and freezing. They will be gorgeous blitzed in the blender with some full fat yoghurt

We called back to their house for a cuppa and I came home with  this beautiful marrow and two huge corn cobs.  Tony and I ate the corn as a starter tonight and oh my goodness they were sweet.

  1. Now that's what I call a marrow! What on earth are you going to do with it? It's HUGE!

  2. The squirrels ate all our sweetcorn when we were at The End of The Road - Jon was outraged to find the discarded husks abandoned at the bottom of the garden! xxx

  4. Son cooked corn on the cob on the BBQ on the weekend and it was so good. Hubby doesn't like corn on the cob, so I never make it.
