A busy morning

I went for my early walk first thing and after playing our usual five games of Rummikub the urge to sort the garage came over me... I did fight it believe me. Thankfully it won as I moved the tumble dryer, freezer and huge shelving unit and have created a proper utility space at one end and the garage looks so much lighter and brighter. Then I watered the front garden and harvested loads of veggies for the salads for tomorrow. The purple bits are gladioli petals from the garden. In fact every veggie in the salad is from our garden. I like to make a big bowl of it and then divided it up into portions. This salad contains Florence fennel, basil, gladioli petals, celery, tomatoes, spring onions, apple,  cucamelons, golden purslane, rainbow chard, radishes, cucumber, lettuce, beet leaves and radish leaves

One each for the next two days for Tony and I.

I've added a good dollop of mayo underneath the sliced smoked garlic salami

Topped them all with a sprinkle of west country cheddar and now they are ready for Tony and I to just grab from the fridge. It saves faffing about every day if I makes a few days worth of the salad at a time.

  1. Yum!
My little b rain just can't handle Rummikub. I leave it to the experts in the family. A good game though.

  2. That's fantastic! I'm so impressed with all of the vegetables that you are growing. I've got baby lettuce on the way...and artichokes.

    1. I've never tried artichokes but am growing the Jerusalem variety.

  3. Your salads look like little works of art - can I have one without the meat? xxx
