There's something fishy afoot :-)

Do you remember a little while ago that I bought these glass fish plates/bowls?

Well they were crying out for placemats weren't they?  ;-) This morning I drew around them and cut the pattern slightly larger than the glass fish

I've cut the layers of wadding from some that was left over from a quilting project. I'm planning on quilting and binding them some time this weekend. It's a shame that they won't be finished in time for me to use at teatime as I'm cooking a spicy seafood courgetti dish tonight. The bowls are shallow enough to use as plates and I've used them a few times for seafood dishes. Can I ask the quilters amongst you whether I should quilt or bind first

They'll look cute when they are finished.

  1. The fishy place mats are so sweet, well done Cherie, you're very inventive.

Are you and Tony feeling better now?

    1. Thanks Sooze. We are much better now and are glad it was just a bit of a tummy bug. There's a few people in our area have picked it up.

  3. Answering your question, I would quilt first, then bind and, if you want, run a line of quilting around the binding. See what it looks like.
