Tony has taken the day off work and we've had a trip out to Thornton Hall gardens. I was so delighted with it when I visited with my friends last week that I suggested he book a day's holiday and we go together. It's oh so pretty and I only wish my photos could do it justice. Tony surprised me by snapping a few of me as he very seldom does.
We've got Alexander and Beckah coming for tea so I am doing a roast chicken dinner. Not sure whether I will be able to resist the roast potatoes though so my diet may be on hold today. Our garden is coming along nicely now and I have popped marigolds all around the plot to encourage the pollinating insects.

The lawn is looking a little worse for wear as Tony has been filling in some lumpy bits with top soil. It's going to be fine in a week or two.

It's so hard to resist buying plants, isn't it?! What a lovely photo of you, Cherie.

DeleteWhat a lovely photo of you, Cheri...I wish you made your photos larger though. Bugs have been eating all my flower starts, except in the veggie garden where we have fabric down...no mulch just fabric. I'm enjoying your garden posts, can't wait for mine to start producing more than green onions or lettuce! Tomatoes are about the size of walnuts! Hugs from Chicagoland, Sandi

ReplyDeleteThanks Vix. I am the most unphotogenic person I know and it's rare I get a decent photo of me.
