You won't see this again any time soon

I had a good old clean up in the kitchen yesterday and seeing how tidy it looks has made me clean up as I went along this morning.  I'd bought a whole fresh chicken so I decided to set to and portion it up.  The breasts  have been cut into slices and are currently marinating in a good hot spicy chilli/yoghurt mix. I boned the thighs before  spicing them up a bit with chilli, black pepper, turmeric and a good sprinkle of salt. Then I fried them in a bit of bacon fat that I saved from the other day.  I've cut them into small pieces and topped Tony salad for tomorrow and Friday with a spoonful of mayo and a handful of the spicy fried chicken.  I seasoned then roasted the carcase of the chicken before popping it into the slow cooker with some herbs and spices.  It will make a lovely chicken and veggie  soup for the weekend. I've put the drumsticks and some fillet from the breasts into the fridge for tomorrow. They'll be lovely stir fried with some garden veggies.

Not a dirty cup or plate in sight

I do envy people that have a tidy nature and wish to heck I did.  I'd gladly spend all day working in the garden but utterly loathe housework. It gets done because the alternative is unbearable but oh how I could spend that time better.

  1. I'll swap with you...much rather clean than garden, but I do like the results of a pretty garden. We have done a lot of updating in our garden to make it much more wildlife friendly and am looking forwards to sitting out there when the weather improves. Arilx

  2. I do understand cleaning the kitchen is not my favourite chore either! I must say though it is looking spick and span and spacious. I hate clutter in the kitchen. I do like your black sink :-) keep well Amanda x

  3. Well done you & I'm not a big fan of housework either & after having to do it from a very early age due to my mother being quite unwell at times, I find it a real drudge these days, Not much gardening happening here at the moment due to both the weather & procrastination about what we should do with our steep slope. Take care & hugs.

  4. Well done, you. On the rare occasion when I do put things away properly, I love the minimalist look but it never lasts. Life's too short.

  6. Kitchen looks lovely and tidy. Tidy? Me? Nope. I have to work at it. There are things I'd much rather do than housework lol, but I make sure I have a routine to do a couple things each day so they don't pile up. I like the routine of it too.
