Hair cut pallaver

My hair appointment was for 10am and my friend and I got there a bit early. I had been growing my hair into a bob but was thoroughly sick of it so explained to the hairdresser that I wanted all the weight taking off it. She then proceeded to cut the back into quite long layers leaving the front quite 'pudding basiny'. Then she decided she wasn't liking the mousse she had used so decided to wash it all out and start again. I asked her to cut it short and to be honest I'm not keen on how she cut it but didn't like to say as at that point we had been there two hours.  She fluffed it all up and I looked like I had been pulled through a hedge by my feet.  I think I will be having a bit of a snip at it myself next time I wash it.

  1. Why do hairdressers never do it like you ask? Tom cuts my hair and I cut his so we are lucky.

    1. I think every hairdresser I have ever had has been hit and miss. Sometimes a great cut and other times not so good. I may well be trimming mine for a few months until it needs a proper cut

  2. It is such a disappointment when they don't cut your hair the way you want! I am sure you feel the same as I do when you have a nice cut and it looks good. You leave feeling great! Call me fussy but I rarely like my hair do after coming out of the hairdressers I usually go home wash it and blow dry it the way I like. I don't go to the hairdressers very much just to get a decent cut the rest I can do at home. I like a more natural look than "through the hedge" styling or "blue rinse" suggestions. keep well Amanda x

  4. I can relate, Cherie. It's so frustrating. And even when you get a good cut, the next time it may not look the same at all. A person can never let their guard down! lol

You did make me smile with the "pulled through a hedge" sentence :)

    1. It's such a pity that they can't be consistent. They get enough practice :-)

  5. Good on you for at least making the effort to have yours cut. I've had mine cut once since we holidayed in UK, August 2019 as the Pandemic hit about the time I was due for another, so I've just let it get long(it's dead straight anyway) and pull it back to keep it tidy. I'd love to have it shorter like I used to, but never mind, hopefully next summer things will have improved & it may happen then. Take care & hugs.

    1. I had reached the point of clipping my hair back off my face. Much easier to manage now it's short again.

  6. How very frustrating for you - and then you have to pay for it too.
