We didn't have one of the Gousto meals on Saturday as we were just too full from the cooked breakfast. On Saturday morning we had both sat in bed and read for a while which is practically unheard of for me. I had a quick shower and then we went and did a bit of 'town shopping' before breakfast. It's only the third time I had been into town since the start of the lockdown last spring. It did feel nice to have a bit of normality back in our lives and I made the most of being in town by popping into Lush and picking up not one but two of their shampoo bars. It might be a long time before I venture into town again so thought it wise to stock up. By the time we got home and put everything away then turned around to make breakfast we'd eaten quite late. I popped the chicken in the freezer and will defrost it through the week to do the final meal with. Yesterday I made their 'Comforting Cottage Pie' and it was the nicest cottage pie I have ever eaten. I mixed some of my own Mozzarella cheese with the cheddar to scatter on top of the mash and it added a lovely flavour. I reduced the amount of potato I used for the mash and added some celeriac to the pan of spuds. It added a hint of something lovely to the mash and I will definitely do it again. I suggested to the other half hat I could use less mashed potato topping to reduce the carbs a bit further and he agreed that it would be just as tasty. It's definitely one I will make again.

ReplyDeleteLooks nice and I've never tasted celeriac & we rarely see it here in any of the greengrocers or supermarkets.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! You were wise to stock up on the shampoo bars.
