I have just advertised two nests of tables and an old Xbox free to collect on Gum tree. This decluttering lark is definitely liberating. The Xbox has already been claimed and the little tables have just gone live on the site. They might take a bit longer to get rid of but I wonder how long it will take Tony before he notices that they are gone. I am really starting to enjoy a 'less is more' approach to the house. Many years ago we bought a new sofa and it came wrapped in absolutely tons of bubble wrap and a foam kind of sheet. I offered it on a local neighbourhood website and a lady picked it up straight away. She was moving house and was glad of it to wrap all her ornaments in. One man's junk is certainly useful to someone else.
One mans junk is indeed another mans treasure. I used to say that about car boot sales.
ReplyDeleteGradually doing the same but other than giving away some bits I am also trying to sell some stuff to finance the renovating I plan to do. Trying out Marketplace on Facebook, have never used it before. Happy decluttering :-) Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThat's true. It's such a good feeling. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good feeling! I just find the starting difficult. I was doing quite well and then, well, life happened. I need to get back on the wagon again as I like the idea of less things. I feel calmer.
