House plant cuttings

It's another of those blue sky and sunshine, bitterly cold days today. The furthest I've been was down to the mini greenhouse to water my seedlings. I'm amazed at how much heat that little greenhouse holds and it offers the seedlings some much needed protection. The spare bed that was once filled with crafting materials is now filled with trays of seedlings and they are doing really well.  I have loads of chilli and bell pepper seedlings grown from saved seeds.  I actually bought a couple of chillies as it was cheaper than buying a packet of seeds and I didn't expect them all to germinate... but they have.  The bell pepper are also growing from saved seed from when I was doing stuffed peppers for tea last year. They have all germinated too so I may well sell/swap some of the plants a bit later this year. I've been taking cuttings from some of my prettier house plants just to see if they would root and I am delighted that they have. Tony is now referring to the house as Cher's garden centre/plant nursery.

Spotted Begonia cutting also well rooted and growing strongly

I haven't taken cuttings from Cheese plants before so this is a bit of an experiment just to see if it will grow.

  1. My friend grew me my huge cheeseplant from a cutting she took from hers, I'm sure yours will work with your green fingers! x

  2. I've just done a catchup on your older posts & love seeing how the garden is evolving. Your little greenhouse, I think, is similar to the one I've recently bought & good to hear that it is successful. I've never really taken cuttings from houseplants but hope we see more of how they are progressing. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
