Many years ago I was given this dolls house. It's been languishing in the shed since then and gradually becoming used as a storage space for bits and pieces of crafting junk. On Thursday Tony helped me to carry it into the conservatory where I plan to decorate it and make it into a beautiful home for any tiny friends to move into. Ooops, I'd better be careful or a family of mice might take it upon themselves to make it their home.It has nine rooms and a massive attic space so I am really going to enjoy working on it. I had a look through some of Vix's posts and she has some great ideas that I might pinch. If anyone else has a dolls house and can give me some ideas I'd be grateful.
I've been a collector since 1993 when my husband made me my own house. I've put a couple of links here for some good free printables for you https://www.jennifersprintables.com/ https://www.printmini.com/printables/p1.html
ReplyDeleteYou can either spend a fortune or do it on a tiny budget. With things like fabrics try and choose a smaller print for scale. Arilx
Thanks Aril. I am going to have so much fun working on the dolls house
DeleteJust a thought, do you ever look on Facebook Marketplace? I was on tbere looming in the crafts section and I saw several ads for folks selling doll house furniture very cheaply. Now I know it's a different country but worth a look. Have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteHi . I don't have a Facebook account but in truth I want to make all the furnishings myself. It's going to be a real labour of love.
DeleteI've been working with doll's houses and roomboxes since 2003. I buy, make my own, and sometimes also convert household trash into miniatures. Here's another site (not mine) for tips: http://1inchminisbykris.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will have a look later this afternoon .
DeleteI always wanted a doll house & had to make do with a cardboard one & it didn't last long with 2 younger brothers. I know two people, my cousin Jill & a friend, also Jill, who both do beautiful work with dollhouses. I'll talk to them both & let you know & they may be able to email you with some hints. I don't have FB either. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. That's really kind of you. Hope you are staying safe. x
DeleteHi, Cherie. My doll blog and older posts on my other blog have lots of dioramas, tips for wallpapering and flooring, furniture redos for Barbie scale. But, the techniques are the same that you would use for a standard scale doll house. Please come and peek at some of my posts.
