Welcome 2021

Happy New Year everyone. I think the whole world was ablaze with fireworks last night and it seems a very fitting end to the year. Tony and I spent it very quietly together watching animated movies and chatting. It was rather nice actually. I think it helps that we enjoy each others company and can always find something to chat about. The Ceilidh was badly missed though and we really do hope that the world has returned to some semblance of normality by next next year.  Tony is having a long sleep in and when he gets up we have a big tray of mini sausages, sausage roll slices, stuffing balls and pigs in blankets to use up. They are proper ones from a local farm, not the rubbish variety so will make a few meaty meals. I will use half the mini sausages in sausage sarnies for breakfast. Half the sausage rolls for lunch and half the pigs in blankets will make lovely 'toad in the hole' for tea. I might do exactly the same tomorrow just to get them used up. We have no plans for today whatsoever so will just roll with whatever comes.

  4. Happy New Year. When I read your meal plans I immediately thought that a nice hot bowl of soup would go well with one of them, maybe lunch?

  6. Quiet new year here too, watching the Big Bash (cricket) on new year's eve & then mowing lawn, a bit of watering as promised rain never happened, a short walk & little sewing to top it off. Someone here would starve too, if the cook went on strike. Must be a Yorkshireman trait (giggle). Take care & hugs.
