Turning of the year

All through the winter my back garden sees no sunshine until mid afternoon. By which time it's starting to set....... BUT LOOK...  There, on the top part of the new potting shed. The sun is dancing on the roof and part way down the wall. It's the first sign that the year has turned and the sun is starting to get a little bit higher in the sky.  Gradually over the next six weeks or so that little patch of sunlight will get bigger and bigger until the whole garden is bathed in sunshine from first thing in the morning until late evening. It works its way up the garden and I can sit down there next to the potting shed in early March and enjoy the wonderful fragrance of the Daphne Mezereum and some gorgeous early spring flowers. It lifts my spirits when I see the sun starting to appear.   It's a sign of renewal and good things to come.

  5. Wow - that must be lovely to watch. I can't wait until we have a bit more sun. I can already tell that the nights are getting just a little longer (at least on the days when there is sunshine lol)
