Today's little craft project

If we must wear a mask  (and we really must) I thought it might be nice to at least make them pretty.  I have been experimenting this afternoon and this particular one is the easiest to make and wear.  I used this variety of chenille stem as a nose wire and I cut mine so that the narrow bit goes over the bridge of my nose with a puffy bit on each side. It seems to stop the condensation on my glasses better than the other variety

  1. I must admit I do struggle with the glasses steaming up, maybe a change of style might help.

  3. Well done & I also struggle with my glasses steaming up & especially on very humid days which we tend to get plenty of in summer. Going to be 37deg today, so probably won't head out for the day, although we do milk.....early bit of shopping will do. More blueberries to pick too very soon. Up to about 12kgs this season with plenty more to come. Can you send me pattern & instructions for the mask via email please. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

    1. Hi Susan. I don't have a pattern... just winged it. Tomorrow I will make another and photograph it step by step if that is any help.

    1. It's really comfortable to wear and you could make it as long as you want it to be

  5. That's really clever. Like Sue, I'd love to see the pattern, please, if you don't mind.

  6. My lovely sister in law made me some with the adjustable bridge over the nose and ties round the back of the head rather than elastic....I've got other ones for shopping etc, but I keep these ones for when I'm working as it can get hot when you're cleaning for people and these are more comfortable than the more standard type if you're wearing them for three hours at a time. 7. It's very pretty fabric. My mother-in-law made lots of them and I love them. I have got quite a few comments on the fabric.

  8. I have to take my glasses off!! And we have been wearing masks for years in japan!! I was even considering going down the contact lens route as I am normally on the shop floor. But I got a mask off a friend and it’s awesome I know she paid a pretty penny for it but I never ever take my glasses off now!! Pius it has sailor moon on it. So it’s a win win for me. She has bought me 4 more as I wash them daily.
She won’t tell though we’re she got them from!!
