I'm a total plonker

Yesterday I decided that I would put up the potting shelf in the new shed.  I had to put some battens on the wall of the shed to place the shelf onto and decided to use No More Nails to hold it in place. We didn't have any No More Nails so I thought I might use the little tub of gorilla glue instead. I dutifully dampened  the wood and proceeded to squeeze some glue onto it. Then dropped the darn glue down the throat of the garden shredder. The throat of the shredder is just too small for my hand to fit in. It took me an hour to get the flipping tub of glue out of the shredder. Then I discovered that the shelf was an inch too short so it wouldn't fit across the shed from one wall to the other. It was just one of those days.

Today I have had quite a lazy day. I didn't get up until after 8 and then spent an hour doing the jigsaw that we have on the go.  I've just cooked a big pan of spag bol  for tea. It takes no time to warm through in the microwave and means I don't have to start cooking when Tony comes in.  I have also cooked a big panful of mince and veggies for tomorrow. It will be really tasty with mashed potato, Yorkshire puds and some shredded greens from the garden. I plan to make extra mash and then I can use the leftovers to throw together a shepherds pie for Thursday. I've portioned up all the meat from our delivery and that is safely stowed in the freezer. I always divide mince up into several portions then I can lift it out and defrost it when I need it.

  3. Oh dear & although I don't do woodwork bits as you do, I know what you mean when it all goes pear-shaped, & I'm sure we all have those days. Like you I love cooking to deliberately have leftovers for some easy meals from both fridge and freezer. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

  6. I've been reheating fettucini with hot sausage meat sauce each day, too. It's delicious in this cold weather. Quick and easy, too.
