Beautiful sunny morning

The sun is  streaming through the bedroom window and the thermal warmth is gorgeous.  It was so cosy that I decided to sit on my bed enjoy the warmth and read my book this morning. The sun's moving round now though so I had better move myself to another sunny spot.  I've cooked a load of leftover ham with plenty of veggies. Then I stirred in a small cup of rice and left it to cook.  I've just had a small bowl  for lunch to test it and it's blimmin tasty and will be lovely for tea tonight. Lunch was very early today for no reason other than I felt like it. If I eat when I am hungry I don't nibble and snack throughout the day. Increasing the amount of water that I drink helps too as I feel fuller for longer.

I would go for a walk but I have two nasty raw blisters on my heals. My walking boots had really rubbed my heals on Saturday and then when I walked on Monday the blisters broke. They are too sore to consider putting shoes on so until they heal I will be stuck at home. As soon as the sun moves into the back garden I intend to wander down the veg plot to see what there is ready to pick over the weekend. Currently working on a pink and white flower garden hexagon quilt. I was going to order some white cotton fabric then discovered it was far cheaper to order a king sized cotton sheet. I don't know why that hasn't occurred to me to do that before.

  1. When I made NHS laundry bags during the first lockdown I used old duvet sets. So much more material in them then buying poly cotton.

  2. I always buy a couple of sheets when they are in the sale they are great for quilt backing and small projects.
