Sometimes it's the little gestures that mean the most isn't it. I've just put Tony's packed lunch together for tomorrow and I popped a few quality street in the box. I think he will enjoy them after his lunch. He's getting fried chicken and salad sandwiches. The bottom layer in the sandwich is baby salad leaves Lovely and fresh as they've just been picked from the garden. The chicken was simply fried in a little bit of butter and olive oil. It's sure to be nice and tasty. I leave the fruit for him to pack each morning as he knows what he will want on a particular day.
While picking salad leaves I picked a bunch of leaves from the brussels sprouts and a few leaves of curly kale/. The purple kale is much more vivid than the camera has picked up. They look really eye catching sitting in a jug of water on the counter. They'll be lovely in a stir fry with some chicken and noodles tomorrow.
Your Christmas decorations are very comforting! I love the green veggies in your kitchen. Sometimes I pick herbs and put in a little vase. I love the fresh green scent. Andrea
ReplyDeleteI am tempted to make a wreath from rosemary and hang it on the kitchen door.
