I've been out for a check over in the veg plot. Replaced the plastic sheeting that the wind had blown off the raised bed and tightened the bird netting on the brassicas. It's not the right time of year for doing much in the garden but it was nice to get out there for a half hour or so. I'm chuffed to bits at how everything is looking. Plenty of veg to see us through until the new growing season starts. I've bought myself a load of veggie seeds so that I can get a head start as soon as Christmas is finished and all the decorations are put away. The propagator can come up from the cellar and I can make some very early sowings ready to prick out and pot on. I need to stop myself getting things started too early because it would be such a waste of seed. Tony is on standby and had to go into work a few hours ago. I'm not sure when he will be back but I plan to cook a lovely dinner with Yorkshire puddings and plenty of sprouts. I must be lacking something as I have had a craving for sprouts all day. I've some parsnips to roast and there'll be plenty of roasted potatoes too. We've been quite good and not stuffed ourselves with too many goodies this year. With a bit of luck the pounds will slide off us both after New Year's day. Until then we are having whatever we fancy to eat and drink.
I love all of those foods that you mentioned. You were disciplined with your food intake. I have to admit that I over ate on Christmas. I are my whole steak and baked potato. It was delicious, though. It felt strange to be so stuffed.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Stephenie. I bet that steak was delicious. We skipped dessert yesterday so weren't overly stuffed.
DeleteWell done to the both of you!
