Although I absolutely adore glitter it really is dreadful for the environment and I stopped buying it a few years ago. Once the glitter in my stash is used up it won't be allowed here in Kemp castle. When I worked in schools I used to explain how damaging it is so I dyed sawdust with food dyes. We used the cardboard packaging from boxes which I cut with my die cutting machine. The kids and I made the prettiest eco friendly gently coloured snowflakes. Sawdust costs virtually nothing and if you dye it and stand it somewhere warm it dries overnight. It's smells gorgeous too if you want an eco friendly craft to make this Christmas.
I love the look of glitter but no longer use it in my crafting. I like the idea of using sawdust, I love the smell of wood too.
