Defuzzed the Christmas jumpers

How do jumpers get quite so fuzzy and bobbly?  I've just de fuzzed and made a few repairs to a pile of them and now they are swishing around in the washing machine. When the load has finished they'll be tumbled dry and put away for another year. Tony was called out through the night so we had a cuppa together at 3am. He got back around 5am but slept on the sofa so as not to disturb me bless him. He went back out just before 9am and is likely to be at work until about lunch time so I decided that today is a cleaning up and sorting out kind of day. Because we like to keep the bedroom quite cool our bedroom windows are always streaming first thing in the morning at this time of year even though we have a dehumidifier in the bedroom. My first job every morning is to squeegie vac them to remove the water.  It's a blimmin nuisance and if anyone has any suggestions that would make a difference I'd love to hear them. The time in between Christmas and new year always seems a little flat and if I am being honest I would happily take all the decorations down this coming week.  That's why we like them up early in December . It means we get to thoroughly enjoy them. Usually we have friends over for meals and drinks but of course because of the flippin virus we aren't allowed.  We will be glad when we've all been vaccinated.

  1. It all seems a little flat at the moment, and we haven't got New Year celebrations to look forward to. I think our few bits will be tucked away soon.

  2. I only said the same yesterday about being flat between Xmas & New Year, especially this year. My own handknits don't seem to get fuzzy until really old, but store bought ones seem to a lot more. Not sure why? Decorations here always come down before the star of another year. Will be a busy day here, housework catchup & maybe some quilting for me & DH is off to clubrooms to help with kitchen reno before our picnic gathering on New Years Day. A special phone call to make too as my DD is 48 today. Wow, where did all that time go. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
