While out walking with my friend this morning she suggested we walk up to the railway station and take a look at the latest yarn bomb. I was half expecting loads of poppies and though there certainly were plenty of poppies in tubs all over the station it had a few unexpected surprises too.The little 'Dig For Victory' display had such a sweet selection of knitted animals, fowl and people. The knitted church even has a tiny poppy wreath

Amazing!! Someone has really gone full out on that girl sat there!! Is it crochet or knitting? I can't quite make it out in the photo? keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteI was wowed until I got a bit closer and saw that it's only her face that is knitted. The rest looks like clothes stuffed with newspaper. Still impressive though.
DeleteIts all very impressive. People have really got involved.
ReplyDeleteThere is a group of ladies that knit all year round for the different yarn bombs. I used to be a part of the group but it began to seem like a a bit of a waste of wool when we were doing several each year
DeleteAs a Welshman , of course I loved the leeks
ReplyDeleteThey made us smile
DeleteAmazing!!!! What a lovely surprise for your village & hope the rain doesn't damage it. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteThey have had several soakings in the rain
DeleteI adore yarn bombing and can't resist photographing it every time I come across some. Arilx
ReplyDeleteThey are such fun aren't they.
DeleteHow lovely! I wish there was something like it here. I remember seeing a lot when Mum and I were on our way up to Scotland on a coach trip and stopped somewhere in Yorkshire. It certainly makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteThere are two or three yarn bombs each year at the station. It's become quite an event.
