On strike :-)

I've been on strike this past week. Although I have cooked the evening meals I haven't put Tony's packed lunch or overnight oats together all week........I think he has thrown together a cheese and pickle sarnie every night.....  He's learned his lesson :-)  I've just picked a lovely fresh salad from the garden and defrosted some prawns.  I cooked some pasta and have put it all together for his lunch tomorrow.  Then I put together his overnight oats. I grated a pear into the oats and sweetened it with a good spoonful each of home made rosehip syrup and elderberry syrup. I've sprinkled in some chia, sunflower, pumpkin and flax seeds. It's soaking in milk now and will be  lovely and tasty by tomorrow morning. The veg was all from my garden and the pear was one of the free windfalls I collected the other week. Tony and I love salad but his work colleague can't stand anything green. Each to their own we say.

Chard, beetroot leaves, radish and lettuce

Topped with tomatoes

Topped with Elderberry syrup

Just needs a bit of mayo and it will be yummy.

  1. My husband won't take salads to work so it pretty much is sandwiches and fruit. He packs his own as I am already online working by the time he starts getting his self sorted.

  2. Eating salads daily really pays off in health benefits. When my hips got really bad before having them replaced, I just made sandwiches. I feel such a difference now that I have salad and veggies everyday again. No more aches and pains, thank goodness. You oatmeal and salad both look wonderful.

  4. The salad looks and sounds very healthy. So your withdrawal of labour made Tony realise how you look after him. I think I need to give Tony my husband's mobile.
