Elderberry mead

I have just set off a brew of Elderberry mead.  It will be ready in about thirty days but I want it for Christmas so it should be perfect by then. I've never made mead before but I thought it might be nice to give it a go. It looks quite pretty sitting in the jar and will be put into small bottles to add to the hampers I am making for Alexander and Beckah.  Tony can be the taste tester when it's all ready. Next year I am planning on making fruit wine using fruit that I can collect in the hedgerow.

  1. If I see a demi john in a charity shop I may invest to give that a go. I've made elderflower champagne and that was lovely and very sparkling.

  2. I wish I could be a tester and taste it.

  3. Sounds delicious. I've made elderberry gin and jam over the years, but this would be an interesting twist. Arilx

  4. Sounds interesting, but as I'm a non-drinker I wouldn't be up to the taste test. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
