Our little insect friends could do with some places to hibernate at this time of year. Milk containers make great kids projects that cost nothing.
Hold the scissors firmly against the base of each strip and pull. You might snap a few pieces but it's just a bit of milk carton. Curl one in and one out for a better curlier look
Give him/her some eyes
Pretty scary if you ask me..
Fill it up with dried leaves, twigs pine cones etc. and pop it in a sheltered corner of your garden. I used a tent peg to anchor it firmly in place

Love it.
ReplyDeleteIt kept me out of mischief for ten minutes :-)
DeleteI love this! I may give it a try and the glow stick idea is pretty good-that or the battery tea lights.
ReplyDeleteI love cheap simple projects when working with kids.
DeleteWhat a fantastic idea I never thought of doing that. hmmmm another project. Thanks for the info. Cold here in the USA this morning so we are staying in. Blessed Sunday to you.

It's been a lovely day here today. Cold but sunny and great for pottering around my garden. Wrap up warm and stay safe
DeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteThey are fun to make.
DeleteBrilliant Cherie....sharing with my great nephews!! Amanda x
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice easy project for children to make.
DeleteThat is utterly brilliant, Cherie! I'm off to rummage in the recycle bin! xxx
ReplyDeleteAnd then you can make an elephant with a milk carton :-)
DeleteShe's really cute & if only we could see the grandkids, it would be fun to do with them. Your last post made me think of decluttering which seems to be done in dribs & drabs here, but I really should start thinking about it again. Take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! How clever you are.

Brilliant fun idea - thanks for sharing - would be great for my little nieces but of course they don't have milk containers as they just get fresh milk in a jug daily from the dairy.....i might have to ask some neighbours to save me their milk bottles😁. Emmax
