This evening we should have been having our friends over for a bite to eat and a few drinks. Because Middlesbrough is now locked down we have had to postpone until it is safer. I'd bought some lovely pork steaks with the intention of making a pork and pepper casserole so I guess Tony and I will be eating it over a few days. It's simmering on the stove now and smells absolutely gorgeous. We will have it tomorrow and Monday as I already have a large pan of chicken curry for our tea tonight. I do like to cook curries and casseroles the day before we eat them as it gives the flavours chance to develop. It's tipping down with rain and not a day for doing much so I might go and bring some beads out of my craft room and make a little sewing needle container. They take a few hours but look lovely when they are made. Hope you are all keeping safe and warm.
Miserable, then bright, the miserable again. Watching Netflix and not doing a great deal. There really is a north south divide at the moment but not many explanations as to why?
ReplyDeleteIt is disappointing & although here in country Victoria things are marginally better, you never know what tomorrow will bring. We also have a big divide on case numbers & our state is still excluded from the rest of Australia due to our strict travel restrictions. Weather has been very, very warm this weekend, but a cold, wet change is expected for the coming week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, stay safe & hugs from down under.
ReplyDeleteReally sorry for the disappointment.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. It sounds like a delicious meal. Sorry to hear that you are on lockdown again.
ReplyDeleteYour meal sounds delicious, such a shame about the change of plans.
