This morning after going for my second walk. I decided I would shampoo the living room carpet. It's the spray foam variety that you rub into the pile and then when it's dry you vacuum it off. It needed to be done in two halves so that I could still walk across the room. Not a problem thinks I.. It only takes two hours to dry then I can do the other half. It will all be dry by the time Tony comes in from work ... That was at ten o clock this morning. I've only done one half because it's still damp, so I think I may do the other half at bedtime and then leave the dehumidifier running all night. It has made a considerable difference though so it's worth the inconvenience. I got quite a workout crawling across the carpet with my little scrubbing brush.
Last night I had text my friend to say that I wouldn't be walking for a couple of days to give my hip chance to settle down. This morning it felt a little bit better (it didn't last) so I text her asking if she fancied a walk.. she did. As I was leaving her house she asked whether I could make use of a compost bin and a water butt... I most certainly can. They will be very useful in the secret garden. Would you believe I gave my compost bin away a few years ago as I didn't think I needed it anymore. We are collecting them tonight after tea. and I'm hoping to make some lovely rich compost from all the flippin nettles that are popping up faster than I can eat them. With a bit of luck we can get rid of the big green wheelie bin provided by the council. It's one less great big ugly bin on the front of the house
I'm using a dustbin and an old water as compost bins at the moment. It means tipping the stuff out to add air but I don't want vermin in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI will be watching the compost bin carefully as I know that there are rats in the neighbourhood. In truth though, rats are everywhere it's just that we don't see them.
DeleteHI Cherie...thank you for your encouragement...I am carrying on!! xo
