Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Mini break
Tony and I are celebrating our anniversary this week so have booked to stay the night in our favourite place. We've booked the four poster room and I am told by people that have stayed there that it is absolutely gorgeous. We've pushed the boat out and arranged for a bottle of prosecco in our room. It's literally ten minutes away from home but we don't want to travel far as the pain in my hip is driving me crazy at the moment. We had already considered celebrating our anniversary there even before the Covid crisis as we know we will have a lovely relaxing break. It's only a shame that the weather forecast isn't great as it would have been lovely to sit out on the terrace with a glass of wine. We won't be availing ourselves of the hot tub though. I just don't understand why anyone would want to sit in a tub of water in full view of other guests and non residents. My wobbly bits only get an airing in the privacy of my own home. I hope to learn how to play billiards while there as there is a full size snooker table available for residents to use.

DeleteOh dear...I'm so sorry to hear that your hip is aggravating you. What a shame. I hope you find a solution after going through all that you did with your surgery. Enjoy the trip; it sounds wonderful! I have to do lots of exercises to feel comfortable in my bathing suit at this age. We are all in full view at the lake. (unless we cover up, and I like to swim and sunbathe...)
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot more discipline and will power than I do. Your figure is amazing so strut your stuff and show it off Stephenie.x
DeleteLooks like a beautiful spot to celebrate a special occasion, Cherie. Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny. The people that own it are absolutely lovely. The bacon butties there are the best I have ever tasted.
DeleteHappy anniversary. Hope you enjoy your mini break. My bits don't get an airing in public either & I've not been swimming in years, though sometimes I think I'd like to. Maybe we could design some sort of full bathing suit.............Enjoy, take care, stay safe & huggles from down under. BTW, did you see the camel on my blog?
ReplyDeleteI think mine would need industrial strength scaffolding to hold/squash it all up/in.
DeleteA very happy anniversary to you both. I hope you have a really wonderful time and enjoy the prosecco.

Thanks Joy. We are both looking forward to our mini break. We haven't been away anywhere in nearly 18 months.
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you and Tony! That hotel looks wonderful, have a fab time and hope that pesky hip behaves itself. xxx

DeleteE-books are the way to go! Ive just downloaded a free sample of The Bee Keeper Of Allepo from Amazon and if I like it I'll buy the whole thing. I have many samples waiting to be looked at. Also, I borrow e-books from the public library. Ours are open now in Perth, but I actually prefer the e-books. It's easier to get hold of older titles and during the lockdown I read my way through many Maigret books.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret. I prefer to hold a proper book in my hands. Alexander offered to buy me a Kindle but I am still resisting the temptation.
