ITS HAIRCUT DAY

You will have noticed the capital ' shoutie ' letters.  I can't wait to get this mass chopped off and starting to look a little more groomed. The appointment is this afternoon and my mask is at the ready.

On a totally different subject though I have noticed that meat from the supermarket just doesn't have any taste these days. I am fed up with buying what looks to be a lovely joint and discovering that it tastes of nothing unless it is highly seasoned or marinated in all manner of things. I am hoping that the lamb I bought from Mainsgill farm has a taste. It's organic and cost heckuva lot more than I usually pay for meat. If it doesn't then I may well become vegetarian. I can make some really tasty veggie meals and it wouldn't bother me at all. Himself might not be so keen but I don't mind cooking meat for him.

  1. I'm shielding at the moment and have been getting all my meat delivered from a local butcher. The quality has been amazing but so pricey. 500 grms of steak mince was about £7 but makes the most amazing burgers, better than a steak. Nearly had a fit when I saw the price of a chicken, over £10. To be honest, saw no difference in taste to that of a supermarket one for £5. When this is over I will still use this butcher but will be careful what I order.

    1. I must be honest and say that the tastiest chicken I have ever eaten was from Aldi. We aren't shopping in Aldi until this is all over but I will certainly buy my chicken from them when we are able to shop there again.

  2. I've managed to get an appointment for 17th. I've been told how much it is as the prices now include PPE! No dry cuts at all.

    1. My hairdresser got a huge tip off both myself and my friend today. I felt as though I had been thoroughly pampered and she made me look and feel like a new woman.

  3. If Tony would consider a vegetarian diet it would be so much easier for me to organise meals.

  5. Over the course of lock down I've started eating vegetarian and I feel so much better and I have more energy! Lentils is the my protein for most days and it tastes like whatever you put with it. I've cut my hair twice myself so I'll wait a while before I go to the beauty shop.

    1. I bought a bag of lentils at the weekend. I'd appreciate any ideas for things I can cook them with.
