British weather??????

The forecast these past few days was heavy showers..... It's been gloriously sunny and warm. Not that I am complaining of course  but it would be lovely to be able to plan days out in advance. Oh well mustn't grumble.  We popped into our favourite place for a bacon butty this morning and came away feeling as though we had been for a weekend away such is the wonderfully relaxing ambience there. On Friday when we got home from our night away we realised that we hadn't been charged for the evening meal so we popped back in and paid for it. I hate dishonesty and wouldn't have been able to live with myself if we hadn't paid.
My tomatoes are coming along a treat and really starting to produce fruit. They are nowhere near ripe yet but they hold such promise. Likewise the cucumber has two tiny babies on it and a mass of flowers so hopefully in a week or two we will be eating fresh cucumber. Last night I put some marrowfat peas to soak with the intention of planting them out in the secret garden.  I intend to use them as a pea shoot salad crop as it's probably a bit late to expect peas to form. That's fine, there's always next year.  I have such plans for the garden next year now that my leg is strong enough for me to be able to garden without suffering in agony. I am seriously tempted to get rid of the fish pond and put a small poly tunnel there. It would be ideally placed for planting veggies.  I keep changing my mind on this though as I do find it relaxing to sit and gaze into the pond watching the fish. I think it's fair to say that it's another 'watch this space' project.
