Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Coronavirus in my area shocking figure.
I have just had a look online to see how many cases there are within five miles of my house. I got the shock of my life to see that there has been in excess of 90 deaths within that radius. That's a scary figure and makes me even more determined to stay way from anywhere that crowds are likely to be. Bojo can open as many shops as he likes... We won't be going to any of them.

Essex is the highest deaths in the East Anglia region. But when you take into consideration the population it's quite low. In my immediate are there are 2 deaths recorded. Like you I have no plans to go out and about unnecessarily.
ReplyDeleteI can't even use the excuse that it is in the poorest area because it's actually higher in some of the nicer areas.
DeleteDon't look at the figures, but stay at home anyway, as a precaution.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what made me look today.
DeleteWow - that would be scary if it was just cases, but deaths . . . that's much worse. That means the number of cases is very high. Stay safe, Cherie.
ReplyDeleteI got the shock of my life when I saw it online. That's a lot of grieving families and my heart goes out to them all.
DeleteYes I think you are right to be cautious I certainly am not taking any chance just yet.

I think it will be a long while before I feel safe again. Not that I am overly concerned as Tony and I detest shopping and we aren't bothered if we have to stay in our own little neighbourhood.
DeleteYou too Laurie.
ReplyDeleteJust saw your comment on Tanya in Essex blog - wonder if the Anona in Brightlingsea that you know is the same Anona who joined a frugal letter writing group that I used to belong to. Can't be many Anonas in Brightlingsea!!
ReplyDelete502 people have died in the whole of Suffolk with a population of around 720,000. We seem to be fairly safe here - won't be going far though as the things I like doing will be the last to open - boot sales and swimming pools
I will ask her?
DeleteI honestly think that not feeling completely safe is by far the hardest thing about all this (obviously, apart from the actual deaths and all the grieving, of course) and it's something that won't go away until there's an effective vaccine available for everyone. Even then, there will be the memories.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely , being cautious is very wise.
xx
I totally agree Joy. We are waiting to hear about a vaccine
Deletewe have had just one solitary death locally right at the beginning of it all the landlord of the pub in the next village who went to Cheltenham races , we are so rural that the real problem is the return of the tourists
ReplyDeleteThat's a high percentage. I think you are very wise to read the statistics. I watch the numbers carefully.
