The stitchy crochet project

Yesterday I had a project buzzing around my head that has been buzzing on and off for a while. I had wanted to make a runner for the coffee table for ages but wasn't sure what fabric to choose. I have loads of wadding left over from my last quilting project so I had a dig in my fabric stash. The strawberry fabric was given to me many years ago, it was some leftovers from a dress that had been made for a little girl. First of all I set to and sewed a padded runner for the coffee table and bound it with some of the navy blue that was left over from the quilt that I made recently. Then I blanket stitched all around the edge to give me a base for the crochet. It fits the table perfectly but my hand is aching from all the stitching and crochet that I did. I have enough fabric left to make a set of coasters to match the runner so that might be on the cards for this afternoon..... and then again it might not.
