Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... The secret garden
I've been planting veg seeds in the secret garden this morning. I had to climb down the four foot wall to get to it and made sure I took my phone in case I got stuck and couldn't climb back up. The wall has loads of small narrow 'foot holds' so it was a bit like scaling Mount Everest :-) Just shows how much my leg has improved. I've drawn up a plan showing the rows and will add more as I grow more things. I'm not sure how productive it's going to be as most of the seed is old. The soil down there is wonderful though as it has had years and years of growing nothing but weeds. It gets a good covering of leaves every year and it was wonderful planting in gorgeous soft soil. Not at all like the clay that we are fighting in the garden. I will let you know how productive it proves to be. If it's successful I plan on buying some plug plants to pop in later in the year. I may even put a few big tubs down there and grow some dwarf fruit trees.
