I was expecting it to be quite cold today but it's gorgeous. Mind you, while out walking this morning I was lovely and warm with my coat open. A lady coming towards me said that she was freezing so I am probably not the best gauge of temperature. I know I am almost back to normal as I am always lovely and warm while everyone else complains of being cold.
This afternoon I took last years viola out from some hanging baskets. I can't bring myself to throw them away so have popped them into the garden to finish flowering. I'll trim them back and let them rest there. If they perk up I'll replant them in the baskets in the Autumn. All my new bedding plants are sitting outdoors in the sunshine. I plan on bringing them back indoors once the temperature starts to drop for a few days just to harden them off a bit. Hopefully I should be able to plant them out after Sunday if the forecast stays nice.
My garden seems very blue at the moment. I have several different shades of blue pansies and viola, there are bluebells in the border and the last of the grape hyacinth are flowering. My new bedding plants are all the colours of the rainbow so it is going to look really pretty all summer long. I hope you are all enjoying a warm and sunny day.
I love blue flowers. I don't have any; most of mine are pink. Violas are so sweet. I'm glad that you saved them.
ReplyDeleteI love pink, it's such a pretty feminine colour and there are so many lovely pink flowered plants.
DeleteIt sounds like you are now looking forward to summer in the garden. 2 degrees here this morning with a sprinkling of frost, but they have forecast 2 or 3 days of sunshine. Can't wait to be able to browse a nursery sometime in the future, hopefully. Take care, stay safe and huggles.
ReplyDeleteGarden centres have queues like you've never seen before so I will be avoiding them for a while.
DeleteLucky you. It was flippin' cold here but maybe it's travelling in our direction.
ReplyDeleteYour garden sounds lovely.
xx
I am hoping that summer is on its way and the cold snap is the last of the frosty nights
