The weekend weather forecast has been completely wrong. We were expecting warm temperatures and a good bit of sunshine. It's 'back to winter clothes' weather and I don't normally feel the cold. Even though it's cold I still have had to water the garden as the chilly wind dries the ground really quickly. The newly planted bedding plants are fine and haven't seemed to mind the cold. They were well hardened off before I put them outside in the baskets and borders and I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get any late frost. If that happens I will throw a layer of fleece over the border.
It will be interesting to see whether we get a Covid19 spike in the next few weeks as people venture out more. I am perfectly happy to potter in the garden and take my early morning walk around my neighbourhood. We have some lovely green spaces just a stones throw away but I can fully understand that someone living in a block of flats must be craving a bit of outside space right now. Please keep on keeping safe everyone. I may have a recycling project to share this coming week and you know you wouldn't want to miss that :-)
That is such a shame. It's gorgeous down here. Hopefully it is heading your way.

Chilly here too, with 3 light frosts in a row. None this morning, but it's very foggy now (7.30am) as I type this. Talk of a second wave here too as restrictions ease a "little", but we have some of the highest testing rates in the country, so are finding them quickly I think. Haven't heard the news yet this morning so am not up to date on our figures, but we only watch our national news on TV at 6pm & may listen to a few on our radio station if we catch them. Looking forward to your recycling project, as DH uses lots of old pallets & other bits at times too. Most of mine was new at the time, so having a stash bought over time is sort of like recycling (giggle). Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteChilly here too and sadly rain not conducive for doing outside work.
