Today I went into Le Crafterie and had a thoroughly good chuck out. I was really on a roll when suddenly I spotted a bit of scrap wood. It was the stabilizer packaging that was on the new washing machine and though it's only cheap rubbishy wood it does have a pretty grain. I have loads of little cardboard birds left over from some project or other so I took one of them and drew around it. Then I used my scroll saw to cut out a little wooden bird. It will be lovely when it is finished and I am planning on making a few and hanging them up under the pergola in the garden
That's lovely. We've been digging through our wood today too as I want to make a cat next week. Arilx
ReplyDeleteI had considered cutting a couple of cats for my son and his girlfriend but doubt they would have anywhere to put them.
DeleteThat's really sweet. Is there anything that you can't do? You amaze me with your talents...
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was the simplest thing to make and could just as easily have been cut with a little fret saw... well worth buying one and having a go at cutting wooden shapes. It does take a little practice but plenty of sandpaper hides a multitude of disasters while you are learning
DeleteReally lovely - you're so, so clever.
ReplyDeleteThat's the sort of thing you could sell (if you wanted to). I'd buy one to replace the weight on my outdoor chimes as it's fallen off and broken.
xx
Bless you Joy. I'm flattered. x
DeleteThanks Laurie. z
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great idea and so pretty.
