A reason, a season, a lifetime
What kind of friend are you
The answer is not too important
As long as your friendship is true
For I've had my share of fair weather friends
They just came along for the ride
But when things turned bad along life's way
They disappeared like the tide
And I've had my share of seasonal friends
Who came along for a reason
But faded away when the need was gone
Just like the change in the season
And then there's the friends of a lifetime
With me through good times and bad
There to remind me when life was cruel
That things wouldn't always be sad
So a reason, a season or a lifetime
What kind of friend are you
The answer you see's not important
As long as your friendship is true.
Wise words.

DeleteJust lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat has so much meaning & it's times like this that we need true friends. I read your last post too & am wondering how I can get in touch with you apart from blogging, as I need to ask you something about where you live regarding the statistics for this nasty virus. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful poem, take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan. If you leave your email address as a comment, I won't publish it but can email you and then you will have my email address too.
DeleteA wonderful creation, Cherie. Real friendship takes many forms but the most important thing is that it be true!
