Blossom.

Blimey it's been flipping cold today. The sun did eventually come out, but the very minute it disappeared behind a cloud it was nithering. I've been watching the blossom blowing from the apple tree that hangs over into my garden from next door. It hardly seems to have been on the tree for a minute but it is one of the beautiful treats that Spring brings to my garden. I had to laugh at a little sparrow as it jumped from cluster to cluster of blossom the other day.  It buried its face in the blossom causing the flowers to fall and then it jumped to the next cluster. It did this for ages and was so sweet to watch reminding me of the Disney film Bambi. Watching the blossom blowing from the tree inspired me to wax lyrical.. Move over William Wordsworth  :-) I may at some point add a bit more to this but then again I might not. x

I watched each time the slightest breeze
Softly blowing without  care
Shook the blossom from the trees
Scattering petals everywhere
Apple blossom floats around
Like fluffy flakes of pure white snow
Gently settling on the ground
Carpeting the earth below
