A lovely surprise

I was up with the larks this morning cracking eggs with sticks. (Not literally). Bed was stripped and in the washing machine at 06:30, Kitchen scrubbed and looking lovely. (It doesn't now) Then I decided that I would swap the poppy net curtains and put up the strawberry ones. I was just about to have a cuppa at 07:45 when a message came through from my friend telling me that she was popping round and leaving something by the back door

I have wanted a Camellia for a very long time

I was deeply touched  (that has been pointed out once or twice before) :-) Before the lockdown we had admired a lovely Camellia  on our early morning walks and I commented that I have always wanted one.  I do have lovely friends.

Of course once the kitchen was spotless I decided I would make some Scotch eggs so set to and boiled up some eggs. I am trying a slightly different recipe today. I've made up a small bowl of sage and onion stuffing which I am planning on mixing with the sausage meat before I wrap it around the eggs.  I am also planning on oven baking them rather than using the deep fat fryer. We are seriously considering getting rid of the fryer as we seldom use it. I will see how the oven baked ones compare before I chuck it out.  Hope you are all staying safe and enjoying the lovely weather. It's all set to change on Sunday..It looks like winter is planning on returning for a while.
