Through the conservatory window

I have had a lovely day today. I made a batch of chocolate cakes with nutella topping for our morning coffee.  While we were sitting on the garden bench in front of the kitchen window the postie dropped off my new books from Amazon... They will keep me occupied for a good long time. When we finished our cake and coffee we had a tootle over to the little local farm shop.  We don't want to go anywhere near the big supermarkets and are determined to shop in the farm shop and mini supermarket for the foreseeable future. The scenery is so beautiful on the route to the farm shop that we felt as though we had been for a day out.. We were there and back in half an hour and that included a ten minute detour due to some road works closing the road. I did promise some garden photos so I took these through the conservatory window. Aren't those snakeshead fritillaries beautiful. The clump is starting to spread a little and they are a joy to see on a warm spring day. My conservatory is starting to look like a greenhouse as more and more seeds and cuttings start to grow.

My lovely neighbour Joan made these for me and dropped them in today.

Snake's head fritillaries

I still love the glass swan heart that Tony made for me fifteen or more years

  2. Thank you for your visit and comment. I will definitely put your blog on my regular read list. We are just starting to have Spring here. Funny, I was just thinking last night that I should call my sunporch The Conservatory, but it sounds a bit pretentious for Iowa! Hoping Tony feels better soon. This is such a scary time, but hopefully it is uniting us even as we keep our distance. Stay safe.

  6. Lovely post Cherie. It sounds as though your hubby must be feeling somewhat better. Your garden is lovely & a conservatory is something I'd love, but our back verandah is a favourite spot most of the time for a refreshing cuppa. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
