Just desserts

Yesterday I left a little fruit bowl on my friend Joan's doorstep. I put some bananas, grapes, strawberries, apples, an orange and a plum... Just enough for one person to eat over a few days. Then I rang the doorbell and left before she opened the door ... It's just like playing 'knock door run' these days. I can see Joan's front door from my house so I phoned her from my house and waved when she opened the door. Tony and I are trying to eat more fruit in order to boost our immune systems. We don't have a problem eating veggies as I incorporate them into most meals but we do have to try to remember to eat more fruit.  I crumbled one of the 'butterbean water' meringues into each bowl before topping them with fruit and cream. It's only the aerosol variety but it made very pretty and tasty desserts.

And my lovely son rang to say he was going to Tesco and if we needed anything he would drop it on the way past.  We finally succumbed to asking for loo roll... just in case. He picked up some laundry essentials and some groceries. He included four cans of beer for Tony and a big bottle of lemonade for me. Wouldn't take a penny for them and removed the bill from the bag so I couldn't just paypal the money to him.  He has turned into the kindest young man and I think a lot of that is down to Beckah.  A good woman makes such a difference in a man's life.

  2. Your son does indeed sound like a very thoughtful young man and, given your kind gesture towards your friend and neighbour, I can quite clearly see where he gets it from. X

  3. Great son & very thoughtful of you to give your neighbour some fruit. I've passed over some Swiss Chard to a few of ours from the garden. I love fruit and even have it on my cereal. Take care, stay safe and huggles.
